Assistant Executive Director

The Eliot at Troy Assisted Living Community is seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and results-driven Assistant Executive Director to support the daily operations of our thriving assisted living community. This leadership role is ideal for an experienced senior living professional who is passionate about enhancing the quality of life for residents while supporting staff excellence and operational success.

As the Assistant Executive Director, you will work closely with the Executive Director to ensure exceptional resident care, regulatory compliance, employee engagement, and overall community performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Executive Director in overseeing the daily operations of the assisted living community.
  • Support the management and development of department leaders and team members.
  • Ensure compliance with all state regulations, company policies, and resident care standards.
  • Monitor resident satisfaction and help foster a welcoming, resident-centered environment.
  • Assist with staffing, recruitment, onboarding, retention, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Support occupancy goals through community outreach, tours, and family engagement.
  • Participate in budget management, expense control, and operational planning.
  • Respond to resident, family, and staff concerns with professionalism and urgency.
  • Serve as acting Executive Director in their absence.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and compassionate care.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Human Services, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience in assisted living, senior living, healthcare, or a related setting.
  • Knowledge of New York State assisted living regulations preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with employee supervision, resident relations, and operational oversight.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and senior living management software is a plus.
