About the Department
This position will assist the Head Coach in the leadership and supervision of the defensive backs in the athletic program that has been assigned to him/her. The individual may also have teaching assignments or other duties assigned and will be responsible for assisting in the supervision and/or controlling of his/her players’ behavior in the residence halls.
Position Duties
1. Assist in the supervision of all activities of the assigned athletic program;
2. Develops and maintains a positive relationship with the high school coaches of the district;
3. Maintain a cooperative and supportive relationship with the administration, faculty, and support staff;
4. Assist in the supervision of the student athletes participating in his/her athletic program in the areas of conduct and academic performance;
5. Assist in maintaining and reporting accurate scholarship information to the Director of Athletics, Director of Financial Aid, Registrar, and others as needed and as assigned by the head coach;
6. Assist in maintaining an accurate inventory of athletic supplies and equipment assigned to his/her program;
7. Coordinates, through the head coach, requests for repairs and/or improvements of assigned facilities;
8. Participates in maintaining an effective and continuous recruiting program;
9. Must be knowledgeable of NJCAA and MACC rules and regulations. Adherence to these rules and regulations is mandatory;
10. Fulfills other duties as assigned by the Head Coach;
11. Support the College Vision and Mission in the daily execution of all duties and responsibilities;
12. Actively participate in maintaining and effective, compliant and continuous recruiting program;
13. Participates in Institution Effectiveness Acuities;
14. Represent the College in a profession manner as evidenced by dress , demeanor and the discharge of daily responsibilities;
15. Fulfills other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director and/or President.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor Degree required.
Skills: Football execution knowledge. Knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft Office applications, good written and verbal communication skills, knowledgeable of basic first-aid techniques.
Work Experience include required number of years documented experience in a comparable/related position: 3-5 years of relevant work experience
Other Qualifications: Knowledge Athletic Culture, MACC and NJCAA Regulations
