Position Summary



The Assistant General Manager supports the General Manager in overseeing all on-site operations and achieving financial and operational objectives for the community. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate reporting, strong resident satisfaction, and compliance with company policies and applicable laws, while helping drive overall property performance.



What You’ll Do



Operations & Financial Support




  • Partner with the General Manager to maximize revenue and manage expenses within budget

  • Ensure accuracy of financial data, reporting, and revenue-related analytics

  • Oversee rent collection processes and coordinate with collection agencies as needed

  • Ensure all billing and revenue entries are accurate within property management systems



Resident Experience & Service




  • Respond to resident service requests and ensure timely resolution with maintenance team

  • Maintain high levels of resident satisfaction through proactive communication and follow-up

  • Support resolution of resident concerns and ensure proper documentation and follow-through



Leasing & Property Oversight




  • Assist with leasing activities including tours, applications, and lease execution

  • Inspect units, common areas, and property conditions to ensure standards are maintained

  • Support unit turns and readiness for scheduled move-ins



Team & Operational Execution




  • Partner with the General Manager to implement and maintain operational standards

  • Assist in training and developing on-site team members

  • Support scheduling and coordination of team activities and responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to safety policies, inspections, and key control procedures



Compliance & Reporting




  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal housing and employment laws

  • Support eviction processes in coordination with legal counsel when required

  • Compile and analyze data for reporting and operational insights

  • Stay informed on industry trends and local market conditions



Resident Engagement




  • Support planning and execution of resident events and programming

  • Partner with Resident Life teams to enhance community engagement



Additional Responsibilities




  • Perform other duties as assigned to support community success



What We’re Looking For



Required Skills & Qualifications




  • Previous experience in property management

  • Strong understanding of property operations and financial fundamentals

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact across all levels

  • Strong customer service and problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and property management systems

  • Demonstrated leadership and team support capabilities

  • Ability to obtain any required state leasing license within required timeframe



Preferred Qualifications




  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Experience in student housing or multifamily environments



Work Schedule




  • Primarily Monday–Friday

  • Extended hours, evenings, and weekends required based on business needs



Physical Requirements




  • Ability to move throughout the property and conduct inspections

  • Frequent use of computer and office equipment

  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, phone, and written formats

  • Occasionally lift up to 30 lbs.

  • Ability to travel locally and occasionally overnight as needed
