PADEL39 is looking for a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented Assistant General Manager to support the General Manager in overseeing the daily operations of our East Austin location. This position is based at our East Austin club and serves as the General Manager's right hand. The Assistant GM will be responsible for ensuring operational excellence, exceptional hospitality, flawless event execution, and consistent team performance. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring someone who enjoys solving problems, taking ownership, improving systems, and ensuring every detail is executed to the highest standard. While the primary focus will be East Austin, the Assistant General Manager may occasionally support company-wide initiatives and events at other PADEL39 locations.
Description
Operations Management
- Assist the General Manager with the daily operations of the club.
- Ensure all departments operate according to PADEL39 standards.
- Complete daily operational walkthroughs and identify areas for improvement.
- Follow up on maintenance requests and facility issues until resolved.
- Ensure the club remains clean, organized, and guest-ready at all times.
- Monitor execution of daily opening and closing procedures.
- Ensure all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are consistently followed.
- Identify operational challenges and proactively implement solutions.
- Report operational updates and issues directly to the General Manager.
Event Management
Lead the operational execution of all club events, including:
- Corporate Events
- Tournaments
- Social Events
- Clinics
- Community Activations
- Member Events
Responsibilities include:
- Creating detailed event timelines and run-of-show documents.
- Coordinating vendors and partners.
- Organizing staffing plans.
- Supervising event setup and breakdown.
- Ensuring every operational detail is executed flawlessly.
- Managing staff during events.
- Anticipating and resolving operational issues in real time.
- Delivering a premium guest experience throughout every event.
Team Leadership
- Supervise the Front Desk team.
- Assist with recruiting and interviewing new employees.
- Create and manage weekly staff schedules.
- Train and coach employees on operational standards.
- Conduct shift meetings and daily check-ins.
- Ensure accountability through operational checklists.
- Support employee development and performance reviews.
- Foster a positive, professional, and service-oriented culture.
Training & Process Development
The Assistant General Manager will be responsible for continuously improving how the club operates.
Responsibilities include:
- Create and maintain onboarding programs for all Front Desk Associates.
- Develop comprehensive training programs for new employees.
- Build and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Create operational manuals, checklists, and training guides.
- Develop systems that improve efficiency and consistency.
- Identify recurring operational issues and implement long-term solutions.
- Regularly evaluate and improve existing workflows.
- Ensure every employee understands and follows PADEL39 standards.
- Work closely with the General Manager to implement new operational initiatives.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
Member Experience & Hospitality
- Ensure every member and guest receives exceptional service.
- Maintain premium hospitality standards throughout the club.
- Resolve member concerns quickly and professionally.
- Ensure locker rooms, courts, café, pro shop, lounge, and common areas are always guest-ready.
- Continuously identify opportunities to elevate the member experience.
- Support community-building initiatives and member engagement.
Inventory & Purchasing
- Monitor inventory levels for all operational supplies.
- Place weekly supply orders.
- Track retail inventory.
- Ensure food & beverage inventory remains fully stocked.
- Prevent operational shortages through proactive inventory management.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Assist with payroll preparation.
- Monitor Playtomic bookings, payments, memberships, and guest passes.
- Prepare operational reports.
- Organize internal documents and club procedures.
- Maintain operational records and documentation.
Communication & Coordination
- Serve as the operational liaison between departments.

- Hospitality
- Cleaning Team
- Maintenance
- Bar Operations
- Ensure all tasks delegated by the General Manager are completed on time.
- Communicate operational priorities clearly to the team.

Qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience in hospitality, sports clubs, events, or operations management.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Exceptional organizational abilities.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable working evenings and weekends during events.
