Summary
The Assistant Scheduler is responsible for assisting in the master production scheduling and the management of finished goods, work in process, excess & obsolete inventory. This position is a key driver in ensuring adequate inventory is available to deploy in fulfillment of customer demand, while minimizing distressed product risks. The role is tasked with maintaining strong partnerships with manufacturing operations and the sales team to manage stock levels as well as using data insights to establish critical system parameters towards Target & Safety Stock settings. The role also balances available stock within the distribution network for operational efficiencies with base & pre-build business situations.
Education, Licensure and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university, or 3+ years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
- Work experience in a team-based environment within manufacturing or supply chain.
- Experience with Oracle and its related supply chain applications.
- Proficiency in using PC-based Technology (Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Word, and Access).
- Strong technical skills in data management, analytics, data processing and problem solving.
- Well organized, with strong attention to detail.
- Strong mathematical/statistical abilities.
- Hands-on experience with modeling, analysis & simulation tools.
- Proven ability to build working business relationships.
- High level of interpersonal skills & hands-on experience working with multiple partners to resolve exceptions and negotiate best alternatives in meeting service level goals.
- Able to provide data to support & explain reasoning for decisions.
- Works well under pressure with limited supervision and able to meet deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (Please note: This in no way states or implies that these are the only duties you will be required to perform. - Creates finished goods needed to support customer orders, forecasted demand and inventory stocking requirements.
- Collaborates with cross functional partners to ensure inventory is managed according to constraints and targets that are aligned with the business strategy.
- Establishes critical inventory parameters for Target & Safety Stock settings for finished goods, while considering supply lead time, warehouse, and transportation constraints.
- Actively interacts with demand management, manufacturing, quality, warehousing and transportation to solve finished goods issues & consumption patterns.
- Measures, analyzes, and reports key process metrics, while monitoring adherence to key performance indicators (KPI) that are assigned to the assigned product categories.
- Identifies possible material shortages against inventory plans and develops action items. Marshal resources to address action items and follow up on all material shortage-related issues.
- Responsible for long-term capacity status, weekly category KPI updates, product shortage reporting & ad-hoc daily information flow amongst supply planning partners (Demand Planning, Customer Service, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Logistics, Business Management).

Language Skills
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the language of the majority Business Management group in order to communicate effectively. Must be able to hear enough to understand those individuals as well. Ability to read, interpret, and comprehend documents such as grafts/flow sheets, financials, general professional articles and publications, governmental regulations, safety rules, assignment sheets, and procedure manuals. Must be able to write reports, business correspondence, policies and procedures, and other administrative forms as outlined above.
Must be able to effectively communicate in both individual and group settings. Must be able to present information and respond to questions from individuals and/or groups.
Mathematical Skills
In order to perform duties, must be able to:
- Add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure such as whole numbers, fractions, percentages, and fractions.
- Compute rate, discounts, ratios, and percent, and
- Make, read, and interpret financials, graphs, rates, ratios, and percentages.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense and judgment in solving problems and interpreting and understanding instructions furnished in written or oral form. Must be able to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action yet reason when to involve supervisor.
Computer Skills
Basic computer knowledge with the ability to learn software.
