Job Description
Position Summary:

UDRI is a national leader in scientific and engineering research, serving government, industry and nonprofit customers. Join our team of talented professionals and become part of our exciting and cutting edge research team as an Associate Mechanical Technician!


This position will support day-to-day sponsored impact testing research operations in the Impact Physics Laboratory through the following:
1. Set up, execute, and document impact tests and test procedures for sponsored impact research projects.
2. Maintain test facility readiness, lab organization, and lab housekeeping.
3. Assist in target fixture design and fabrication.





Minimum Qualifications:

High-School Diploma.
Experience with basic hand tools.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Due to the requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be a U.S. citizen.





Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:


Associates Degree.
Knowledge of Solidworks or CAD software.
Familiar with the operation of milling machines and lathes.
Good organizational skills and the ability to keep the lab clean and tidy.
Ability to follow test procedures and document results.
Ability to assist with fixture design and fabrication.
