Job Description

Founded in 2005, Mickelson & Company is a tax-motivated capital advisory firm with a team of 17 professionals based in Sioux Falls, SD. We specialize in the monetization of federal and state tax credits for the railroad and renewable energy industries. We are experiencing exciting growth opportunities.

Position: Analyst or Associate - Renewables

Location: Sioux Falls, South Dakota

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate closing of financial transactions (tax credit assignments)

  • Ensure the timely completion of the required documentation package

  • Coordinate communication between clients and counter-parties and their advisers

  • Set up shared due diligence site and gather documents from relevant parties

  • Draft documents as required based upon form templates

  • Be technically proficient in legal and diligence matters, including tax requirements

  • Read contracts and develop list of outstanding items

  • Create progress reports on diligence status

  • Work with renewables team of analysts, associate, director, vice-president

  • Other duties as assigned

Required skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience, preferably in such fields as lawyer, loan processor, real estate closing specialist, paralegal, other financial transactions

  • Proficiency in software (e.g. Word, Excel, Adobe, DocuSign, Salesforce)

  • Read and understand legal documents, statutes, administrative rules

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Work effectively in a team-oriented environment

  • Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills

  • Pleasant persistence and tenacity

  • Vice President – Renewables, works closely with other team members
