Job Summary
Serves as a cabinet-level executive, reporting to the Board of Trustees, and leads and integrates the district’s business, financial, and operational systems to ensure fiscal stewardship, legal compliance, and effective support for student learning. The position has primary responsibility for budget development and multiyear fiscal planning, and for aligning the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) and associated budgets with the district’s vision, mission, Board goals, and student outcome targets. The role oversees key business and operational functions, including facilities, maintenance and operations, food services, purchasing, payroll, and risk management, while coordinating closely with instructional leaders on curriculum, assessment, and professional learning to maximize student achievement within a balanced budget.
Required Documents
EXPERIENCE and EDUCATION
• Five (5) years of certificated or management leadership experience in public education, including substantial responsibility for site or program budgets, resource allocation, and compliance
• Commitment to school business leadership as evidenced by completion of or enrollment in a CBO or school business professional development program.
• Master’s degree from an accredited institution in Educational Administration, Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, or a related field.
• Administrative Services Credential or eligibility for appropriate administrative credentialing
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
• Valid California driver’s license and a personal automobile for travel between district sites and meetings.
• Ability and willingness to attend evening and irregularly scheduled meetings and to work extended hours as needed.
