Position Summary
Jack Giambalvo Family of Dealerships is seeking an experienced Automotive Service Advisor to join our team at Giambalvo Hyundai of York. This full-time position plays a key role in creating an exceptional customer experience by serving as the primary point of contact between our service department and customers.
The ideal candidate will have prior automotive service advising experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to effectively coordinate customer needs with technician recommendations while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Greet customers promptly and professionally, ensuring a positive service experience from arrival to vehicle pickup
Schedule service appointments using dealership-approved software
Communicate with customers to accurately identify vehicle concerns and service needs
Create and manage repair orders, ensuring all customer and vehicle information is current and accurate
Coordinate repair orders with technicians and monitor progress throughout the day
Provide customers with accurate estimates for labor, parts, and completion timelines
Contact customers regarding additional recommended repairs, delays, or updates, and obtain proper authorization for any additional work
Recommend maintenance and repair services based on manufacturer guidelines and technician findings
Handle inbound phone calls related to appointments, service updates, and work in progress
Maintain documentation of customer communications, approvals, and repair history
Review completed repair orders and final invoices for accuracy
Follow up on previous repairs and additional maintenance recommendations
Ensure compliance with manufacturer warranty procedures and all federal, state, and local regulations
Work closely with the Service Manager to meet department productivity and customer satisfaction goals
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record required
Minimum of 2–3 years of experience as an automotive service advisor required
Prior dealership experience preferred
Experience with Hyundai service operations is a plus, but not required
General knowledge of vehicle mechanical systems and maintenance needs
Strong customer service and sales aptitude
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Professional appearance and demeanor
Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn dealership management systems
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced service environment
