Currently, around 4,000 employees are working at CARIAD on the digital transformation of the car. CARIAD is working intensively on the software and technology platform for Premium Platform Electric (PPE). The first vehicles based on PPE will be the electric Porsche Macan and Audi Q6 e-tron. At the core of CARIAD is the development of the unified and scalable software and technology platform E³ 2.0 for all Group brands. E³ stands for ‘end to end electronics architecture’. The new software and technology platform is built from scratch and will be used first at the end of 2024 in Artemis, the lighthouse project of Audi. Software Developer Backend Development

Role Overview

We are looking for a motivated and technically skilled software developer to lead the internal development and optimization of the Online Remote Update Technology. The role includes tool development and feature enhancement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement enterprise-grade, secure, and scalable backend services and APIs.
  • Lead architectural decisions for backend systems, promoting best practices and modern patterns.
  • Develop robust RESTful and event-driven APIs for reliable system integration.
  • Optimize backend systems for high performance, availability, and reliability.
  • Champion continuous integration and deployment practices for fast, safe delivery cycles.
  • Monitor, measure, and improve system observability, including logging, metrics, and alerting.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, architects, QA, and operations to deliver solutions aligned with business goals.
  • Create and maintain clear, comprehensive technical documentation for APIs and system components.
  • Own service delivery from design through production, ensuring issues are addressed promptly.
  • Mentor and support engineers, sharing knowledge and fostering professional growth.
  • Participate in code reviews to maintain high standards and share expertise.
  • Respond to production incidents, lead root cause analysis, and drive remediation.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement in processes and technology.
  • Ensure solutions adhere to internal quality standards and external compliance requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, translating technical concepts into business value.
