Responsibilities

The Clinical Reviewer is responsible for collecting and submitting accurate, complete and timely data to the MBSAQIP Registry. This task is accomplished through high-quality compilation, documentation, and entry of 100 percent of bariatric procedures performed at North Vista Hospital in the MBSAQIP Registry. The Clinical Reviewer works closely with the members of the bariatric surgery departments to identify opportunities for clinical quality improvement and other special projects that may be identified. 


Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING


BARIATRIC SERVICES:

  1. RHIA, RHIT, LPN/LVN, RD or RN licensure required.
  2. Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred
  3. Minimum one year experience in a hospital surgery department or surgery center or with clinical research or medical records. Clinical chart review and abstraction experience required.
  4. Demonstrated computer skills; proficiency in MS Office required.
  5. Basic or intermediate statistical knowledge preferred.
  6. Critical thinking skills required.  Must be autonomous and self-driven.  Must be able to work well independently and with others.
  7. Successful completion of the MBSCR Training Program within (45) days of hire.
