PCSI is looking for a Boiler Tender I at FT. SILL, OK. A Boiler Tender I Operates, troubleshoots, repair, and maintains heating and domestic hot water boilers. This position will report to the HVAC Supervisor and is based at FT. SILL, OK. Typical work hours will be 0730-1600 Monday through Friday.

What You'll Do as Boiler Tender I:
- Operate, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain heating and domestic hot water boilers.
- Troubleshoot and repair the following:
- Heating water boilers up to 2 million BTU’s
- Domestic Hot water boilers up to 2 million BTU’s
- Low pressure steam boilers (15psi) to include retubing the boiler.
- Vent pipping for various applications to include stainless steel and PVC Vent Piping
- Electrical Circuits
- Pump/Motor repair and installation.
- Perform Preventive Maintenance on Heating Water & Domestic Hot Water Boilers up to 2 million BTU’s and associated equipment such as expansion and storage tanks.
- Use the Pro Press for various applications on copper and black steel piping.
- Run and install new gas piping to include regulators and valves to existing connections and boilers.
- Assist in the installation heating and domestic hot water boilers.
- Repair copper or steel piping using pro press or threaded piping.
- Tune boilers for proper combustion on both heating and domestic hot water boilers.
- Proficient in reading wiring schematics.
- Know basic electrical wiring to wire in motors and pumps.
- Maintain and adjust chemical treatment of boilers.
- Maintain, flush, and add chemical treatment Heating Water Loops.
- Operate, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain low pressure steam boilers.
- Cut and re-tube fireside and water-side boiler tubes.
- Troubleshoot, repair / replace, and maintain centrifugal pumps and motors.
- Replace fuses, switches, contactors, and electrical wiring to repair installed boilers.
- Fires boiler.
- Observes and interprets readings on gauges, meters, and charts which register various aspects of boiler operation.
- Adjusts controls to ensure safe and efficient boiler operation and to meet demands for steam or high-temperature water.
- May also do one or more of the following:
- Maintain a log in which various aspects of boiler operation are recorded.
- Follow prescribed methods, treat boiler water with chemicals, and analyze boiler water for such things as acidity, causticity, and alkalinity.

What You'll Need to Be Successful:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must possess current Class 4 Boiler Operator License.
- Five years’ experience related to the ability to perform the assigned duties.
- Must be able to effectively read, write, and speak the English language.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Regularly required to stand and walk. Frequently required to kneel, squat, bend, and reach.
- Required to be able to lift 50 lbs. up to 10 times per day.
- Ability to cut, modify, thread, repair, and install steel or copper piping for natural gas or water piping using threading machines, map gas, or pro press.
- Requires ability to use hand tools, power tools, and equipment required for installation, maintenance, and repair.
- Ability to follow prescribed methods to analyze and treat boiler feed water and closed loop systems with chemicals to maintain PH and causticity.
- Ability to work as a team member.
- Self-starter, able to work with minimal direction and supervision.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to pass criminal, drug, and driving screening.
- Ability to work outside in inclement weather as needed and be exposed to various dirt, debris, and odors.
- Ability to work any time or day of the week, including weekends and holidays.
- Possess valid driver’s license and maintain good driving record.
- If required, ability to obtain and maintain security clearance and base access to assigned site(s).
