Job Description

Bookkeeper/Student Data Manager


 


TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: Non-Exempt, 12-Month Position; Full-Time 40hr/wk


 


SALARY: Salary Scale 6-10 Based on Qualifications and Experience


 


QUALIFICATIONS: High school graduate required; associates degree in accounting/business administration; or 5 years of accounting experience involving a large variety of complex duties preferred; high level of computer proficiency required; ability to work with confidentiality; good communication skills; working knowledge of accounting techniques and procedures; ability to interpret, analyze and report information; dependable; with good job attendance record with previous employers. 


 


DUTIES: 
Bookkeeper
-Accurately maintains a large, multi-fund bookkeeping system using an online accounting program
-verifies and receipts collections of money from school personnel and school events
-creates daily deposits, issues local requisitions for school funds
-verifies invoices for payment
-maintains receipts of items
-enters accounting transactions into the system
-generates monthly reports including cash flow statements, balance statements, and income/expenditure statements for each fund
-accurately maintains payroll records and completes monthly payroll reports


-other duties as assigned by the Principal and/or Superintendent.
Student Data Manager- Daily maintenance of the student information database (NCSIS) and physical records to including all aspects of student records (attendance, grades, demographics, class schedules, test scores, immunizations, enrolments, withdrawals etc.); prepares correspondence to parents to advise them of excessive absences according to established policies; facilitates transfer of student records between schools; maintains information for Uniform Education Reporting System (UERS) reporting areas; prepares customized reports for local and state needs; when needed will receive telephone calls and greets visitors; other duties as assigned by the Principal and/or Superintendent.
