ABOUT THIS ROLE
At HOPE, creating a safe, secure, welcoming, and structurally sound learning environment is essential to fostering positive student outcomes. The Facilities and Properties Manager is responsible for ensuring that all school buildings, grounds, and physical assets are safe, well-maintained, and conducive to teaching and learning. This role oversees preventative maintenance, building operations, repairs, custodial services, safety compliance, security systems, and capital improvement projects while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. The Facilities and Properties Manager works collaboratively with school leadership, staff, contractors, and vendors to provide clean, functional, and efficient learning spaces that support student achievement, staff productivity, and community engagement. By proactively maintaining HOPE's facilities and planning for future infrastructure needs, this position helps create an environment where students, families, and staff can thrive.
PRIMARY DUTIES
Building & Facilities. Oversee the daily operation, safety, and functionality of all school buildings and grounds to provide a clean, secure, and welcoming environment for students, staff, families, and community partners. Ensure facilities support high-quality instruction and align with all health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Property Maintenance. Develop and implement preventative maintenance plans to preserve the condition and longevity of HOPE's buildings, equipment, and physical assets. Coordinate routine inspections, repairs, and improvements to minimize disruptions to school operations.
Contractor Management. Manage relationships with vendors, contractors, and service providers to ensure maintenance, repairs, renovations, and capital projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with HOPE's quality and safety standards. Provide guidance and support to janitorial staff/contractors and other onsite contractors.
Operations Support. Provide operational support across the organization by coordinating facility logistics for school programs, special events, and emergency preparedness. Collaborate with school leadership to ensure facilities effectively support instructional, cultural, and community engagement activities. May include moving things, reorganizing, shuffling, pulling, fixing, repairing, painting, and other maintenance duties.
Work Order Coordination. Manage the work order system by prioritizing, assigning, and tracking maintenance requests to ensure timely resolution of facility issues. Monitor completion, communicate updates with staff, and use work order data to identify trends and improve operational efficiency.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Duties are performed in a school environment; school building is a multi-level building that has an elevator and is accessible. May involve movement throughout the building to support scholars in classrooms, common areas, hallways, and offices. Possible exposure to loud environments (e.g., hallways during passing periods, cafeteria, gymnasium). Some evening hours may be required for school events, family engagement activities, and cultural programs.
