ABOUT CARROLLWOOD FARMS

Position Overview:

 

We're looking for a hardworking and detail-oriented Building Trades Craftsperson to join our team at Carrollwood Farms. In this role, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our farm by maintaining our facilities, equipment, and overall safety. You'll be responsible for a variety of tasks, including carpentry, fence repair, equipment operation, and general maintenance.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Maintain farm facilities and structures through carpentry repairs and upkeep.
  • Assist with fence repair and maintenance, including staining and dipping lumber.
  • Participate in fire watch and other safety protocols as needed.
  • Operate designated farm equipment for various tasks.
  • Identify potential safety hazards and take corrective action to minimize risks.
  • Assist with a variety of tasks as directed by supervisors, which may include construction projects, equipment setup, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
  • Other special projects as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in construction, carpentry, or a related field.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
  • Strong knowledge of arithmetic and basic geometry, with the ability to apply them to practical tasks.
  • Ability to work safely at elevated heights.
  • Proficient in the use of hand and power tools.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Strong work ethic with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to safety.
  • Ability to lift and maneuver materials up to 70 lbs.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, twist, and perform various physical tasks throughout the workday.
  • Must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
