As a CNC Oxy-Fuel & Plasma Machine Operator, you will operate CNC cutting equipment to produce steel plate parts to specification.
Responsibilities
- Operate CNC oxy-fuel and plasma cutting tables to cut steel plate to specification.
- Determine efficient plate nesting to minimize scrap and maximize material usage.
- Follow work instructions and print specifications to produce accurate parts.
- Inspect finished parts visually and measure tolerances (tape measure; additional gaging as trained).
- Verify material grade using the company color-coding system.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and document maintenance activities per company standards.
- Maintain the cutting surface and assist with re-slating tables as needed.
- Record production numbers per company procedures.
- Use overhead cranes to move plate/parts as required.
- Support department quality and productivity goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Cutting table experience (plasma, laser, or oxy-fuel) preferred.
- Ability to read a tape measure to 1/16" or willingness to learn.
- Ability to distinguish colors for material identification.
- Overhead crane experience is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work overtime, including rotating weekends as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 1+ year manufacturing experience preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods on hard/uneven surfaces.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures and conditions.
