How you make a difference in this role:

As a Business Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting payroll, timekeeping, employee onboarding, and financial administration activities for the Department of General Services (DGS). In this role, you will help ensure employees are paid accurately and on time, provide training and support for Edison Time & Leave processes, maintain essential personnel and financial records, and serve as a trusted resource for managers and employees across the Department. This position is part of the Administration Division and reports to the Director of the Office of Financial Management. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional customer service, strong attention to detail, sound judgment, professionalism, and the ability to manage multiple priorities, both independently and collaboratively. The position has a hybrid work schedule. The monthly starting salary is $5,100 to $6,373. Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up new employees in Edison and other required systems. 

  • Provide Edison Time & Leave training for employees.

  • Provide Edison Manager Time & Leave training for supervisors and managers.

  • Review, monitor, and audit employee time entries to ensure accuracy and compliance. 

  • Assist employees and managers in resolving payroll, timekeeping, and leave-related issues.

  • Ensure payroll corrections and time entry adjustments are completed prior to system lockout deadlines.

  • Participate in Edison User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities and support system enhancements.

  • Prepare, maintain, and distribute financial, payroll, personnel, and administrative reports.

  • Complete Verifications of Employment (VOE) requests.

  • Process garnishments in accordance with State policies and procedures.

  • Complete and submit security access requests and signature authorization forms.

  • Track commuter vehicle costs and respond to related inquiries.

  • Process and maintain Workers Compensation documentation.

  • Receive, review, file, and maintain Tennessee Emergency Management Agency (TEMA) documentation.

  • Ensure employees charge time to the appropriate task profiles and funding sources.

  • Maintain confidential payroll, personnel, and financial records.

  • Support special projects, audits, and other Office of Financial Management initiatives as assigned.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Completion of a bachelors degree from an accredited college or university; 

OR 

Four (4) years of professional business experience in data analysis, accounting, payroll, financial management, or closely related work may substitute for education. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting payroll, timekeeping, accounting, finance, or human resources functions.

  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and other Microsoft 365 applications. 

  • Experience editing and managing PDF documents.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

  • Ability to analyze information, identify issues, and develop practical solutions.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. 

  • Demonstrated ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion. 

  • Experience providing training or instructional support to employees and managers.
