Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Business Analyst to join our Digital Assets Technology team. This role involves capturing and analyzing business requirements, designing solutions, and supporting new product initiatives. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, operations teams, and external partners to uphold the highest standards of technical governance, operational control, regulatory compliance, and client experience. This position requires strong analytical skills, an understanding of blockchain and digital asset ecosystems, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Process Evaluation: Evaluating business processes, anticipating requirements, and developing solutions.
  • Operational Support: Assisting technology stakeholders in meeting operational and business requirements.
  • Requirement Elicitation: Eliciting business requirements and producing user stories in an Agile model.
  • Collaboration: Collaborating with vendors and various teams within the bank.
  • Testing Support: Drafting test cases and supporting technology delivery and testing teams.
  • Defect Management: Addressing defects and managing risks.
  • Project Coordination: Coordinating with cross-discipline team members to ensure project alignment.

  • Project Updates: Providing periodic project updates and managing key risks and issues.
  • Communication Plans: Establishing and executing effective project communication plans.
  • Change Management: Facilitating change requests and conducting post-project evaluations.
  • Product Development Support: Capturing and analyzing business requirements for new product initiatives.
  • Product Implementation: Supporting the development and implementation of new digital asset products.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Operational Integration: Working closely with operations teams to ensure seamless product integration.
  • Technical Governance: Maintaining a high level of technical governance and operational control.
  • Industry Monitoring: Continuously monitoring industry trends and emerging technologies in the digital asset space.
  • Client Experience: Enhancing client experience through effective stakeholder management and communication.

Governance 

  • Quality Delivery: Establish good governance processes in the team to ensure quality delivery.
  • Release Management: Ensure minimal release rollbacks and minimum post-release production issues.

 

Regulatory & Business Conduct 

  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank.   • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigateExercise authorities delegated by the Board of Directors and act in accordance with Articles of Association (or equivalent)

Skills and Experience

  • Working experience in Linux Platform 
  • Hands-on working experience in Java Application
  • Java 17, Spring boot 3.x, Maven / Gradle, JUnit, Messaging concepts (MQ, Solace), Web security, Linux shell commands and basic scripting, Git, Containerization (Kubernetes, Docker / podman), Devops 
  • Database - SQL, Data model design
  • Knowledge on Web sphere
  • Knowledge on other middleware applications like WebMethods or web sphere, MQ
  • Shell scripting knowledge a must
  • Knowledge on other script language (perl, python, jython)
  • DevOps tools Ansible/Git/bitbucket/Jenkins/rundeck -Advance & real time project support Docker and Kubernetes Intermediate level

Qualifications

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree/MBA or equivalent.
  • Experience: 8+ years of Business Analyst experience in financial services, especially in the Securities services domain.
  • Domain Knowledge: Strong knowledge in post-trade services and 2+ years of front-to-back technology project experience.
  • Market Instruments: Good knowledge of financial market instruments.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to engage, influence, and drive outcomes across stakeholder groups.
  • Agile/Scrum Experience: Proven track record of delivery excellence using Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Jira and Microsoft applications (Azure DevOps, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Blockchain Understanding: Basic understanding of blockchain concepts
  • Workflow Systems: Familiarity with workflow systems.
  • Technical Skills: Basic SQL and documentation skills (Confluence, ADO).
