    Position Overview

    The Business Analyst reports to the VP, Account Management, and contributes to the achievement of company and client objectives by providing in-depth analysis of a leading wholesaler’s business for the Consumer Products team.  The Business Analyst will use a variety of data sources, including consumption-based POS, to analyze and deliver information.  This position works directly for Retail Insights, but takes directions from multiple sources with minimal supervision, while providing accurate and on-time reporting and data analysis. 

    Key Responsibilities

    • Supplier Partner support resource: 
      • Support supplier partners and the Consumer Products Team as a resource for questions and training on the data tool   
      • Manage support mailbox  
    • Various Ad Hoc and structured analyses within the consumer products area including: 
      • Work directly with Category Managers to define strategic initiatives and complete analysis that helps drive new item reviews, planograms, and item assortment.
      • Work directly with the Marketing and Retail Operations teams to complete analysis that helps drive promotional efficiency and inform field teams to maximize business performance. 
      • Produce the following reports and analysis: 
      • Various sales and scan analyses, Distribution gap analysis, Market basket analysis, etc. 
      • Category dashboards each month for all categories 
      • Vendor level dashboard for all identified suppliers 
      • Promotional review template completed monthly for key promotional events. 

    Requirements 

    Skills & Knowledge

    • Analytically minded and proficient - someone who is comfortable with data, Excel, and web-based programs, and enjoys this type of work. 

      Thrives in an on-site environment – working directly in the customer’s office with dotted-line reporting structure to customer lead. 

      Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. 

      Ability to manage multiple projects/deliverables at a time. 

      Strong Written and Verbal Communication Skills 

      Power User of Excel and PowerPoint, proficient in Access 

      Developing ability to find the golden nuggets in the data, not just “reporting the news”. 

      Requires project and time management skills with the ability to deliver a high-quality output. 

      Experience

    •  Preferred 1-3 years’ experience in retail or wholesale.

    Working Conditions

    • This is a hybrid role, and on-site visits to clients are required
    • Majority of work hours spent seated at a computer monitor using a mouse and keyboard
