Job Description

MONTICELLOAM, LLC and its affiliates (“Monticello”) is a real estate and asset-based lender providing asset management and comprehensive capital solutions for healthcare, multifamily, and commercial real estate assets throughout the US. We are seeking motivated, collaborative professionals who bring creativity, compassion, and a strong work ethic to a dynamic team environment.

We are looking for a Business Analyst to partner with teams across the business – exploring business problems and delivering clear, data-driven solutions. You’ll develop and generate the reports and analyses leaders rely on, and help manage delivery with our offshore development teams. You'll sit at the intersection of finance, data, and technology, turning open questions into shipped solutions.

This role is fully in person. Candidates must be able to work onsite at our New York City office.

Our Tech Stack

At Monticello, we build and operate our data platform using modern, scalable technologies. As a Business Analyst, you'll work hands-on with:

Analysis & Reporting

  • Python for data analysis, automation, and reporting
  • SQL for querying, data modeling, and ad hoc analysis

Data Platform

  • Snowflake as our cloud data warehouse
  • DBT for modular, version-controlled data transformations
  • Airflow for orchestration and workflow automation
  • Git for version control

About Your Team

You'll join a small, collaborative team that builds the data, reporting, and analytics systems powering Monticello's real estate finance operations. You'll work closely with business stakeholders and our offshore development teams to turn requirements into delivered solutions. Each team member owns their solutions, beyond just the technical implementation.

What you'll own:

  • Partnering with business stakeholders to understand and document business requirements
  • Generating ad hoc reports and analyses that answer time-sensitive business questions
  • Writing Python and SQL to extract, transform, and analyze data across the business
  • Taking projects end to end – from business problem through delivered solution

You'll also contribute to:

  • Project management support – helping coordinate and manage our offshore development teams to keep delivery on track
  • Automated Data Quality and QC processes that keep reporting accurate and trusted
  • Dashboards and reporting that drive portfolio decisions
  • AI initiatives across the business – including workflow automation, data ingestion, and analysis and insights

Qualifications

Core:

  • Proven ability to understand business challenges and deliver data-driven solutions
  • Experience generating ad hoc reports and analyses for business stakeholders
  • Strong SQL skills for querying and data modeling
  • Familiar with Python for data analysis, automation, and reporting

Also valuable:

  • Git for version control
  • DBT for data transformations
  • Snowflake or another cloud data warehouse
  • Working with offshore or distributed development teams
  • Airflow or other orchestration tools
  • LLMs for effective coding and productivity

We welcome applicants from a variety of educational and professional backgrounds. If you enjoy turning business questions into clear, data-driven answers and want to own projects end to end, we'd like to hear from you – even if your experience doesn't match every bullet.

What We Value

  • A strong team player who thrives in a collaborative environment
  • Excellent communication – a good listener asks insight-generating questions
  • Comfortable being uncomfortable – able to navigate ambiguity and rapid change
  • An entrepreneurial mindset – be willing to take a risk on something new to improve the business, not just prescribed work
  • Strong finance domain knowledge

At Monticello, we believe that finding creative solutions for our clients comes from the collaboration of people with diverse backgrounds and perspectives. We strive to build an inclusive work environment that celebrates differences and empowers all individuals with opportunities to channel their entrepreneurial spirit. Monticello is an EEO employer.
