About the Role

The Business & Policy Analyst participates in all phases of analysis involving complex business requirements for student-related enterprise systems and programs. The position consults and collaborates with users and business stakeholders within the AVP Students and International portfolio, the Faculties, and other service units across the institution to lead projects, analyze business needs, develop policy and document business processes. The Business & Policy Analyst facilitates large-scale projects, business requirement gathering and process description reviews from internal and external stakeholders, involving complex task and workflow analyses; writes business processes and related functional specifications; plays a key role in re-engineering business practices; analyzes and provides guidance and recommendations to appropriate stakeholders for policy changes; designs and helps to implement change management plans; develops and coordinates functional testing and UAT (user acceptance testing) and, facilitates, coordinates, and monitors the automation of business processes. The role provides quantitative and qualitative information analysis and reporting to support strategic, policy and operational decision-making by the University's senior administration, including the provision of student enrollment data required to meet the annual undergraduate enrollment plan.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a quantitative science such as Computing Science, Statistics, or a related discipline, or in Business Administration, with three years related experience in data and/or business analysis; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Good knowledge of enterprise level student information systems and student services business functions (e.g., PeopleSoft, Salesforce).
  • Excellent knowledge of manual to automated business process and work-flow redesign.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral, written, and presentation) with the ability to build relationships and maintain rapport with stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical reasoning, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to lead collaborative projects.
