This position is responsible for assisting in identifying potential risks, conducting business impact analyses, and supporting the development and maintenance of business continuity and mitigation strategies. The role contributes to preparedness efforts through supporting planning, testing, and continuous improvement of continuity programs, with a focus on protecting operational integrity across production, supply chain, and support functions. This position collaborates with stakeholders, partnering across the organization to strengthen resilience and support effective response and recovery from disruptions. A proactive approach and willingness to learn are important to support ongoing program development and operational readiness. Essential Duties: Functional Operations: Support the development, implementation, and maintenance Business Continuity (BC) plans tailored to the specific business unit needs of a high-volume manufacturing environment Conduct regular risk assessments and business impact analyses (BIAs) to identify critical operations, dependencies, and potential vulnerabilities across production, support, vendor, and supply chain processes Support the development of crisis communication strategies and ensure effective communication channels are established to support timely incident response and recovery Support engagement with external partners, vendors, and government agencies to enable coordinated and effective responses to regional or global disruptions Assist in coordinating the Risk Review Board/Risk Council program, including monitoring and tracking progress of risk mitigation plans. Utilize and support Business Continuity technologies and platforms (e.g., Fusion) to manage planning, documentation, and incident response activities Maintain BC documentation and ensure plans are current, accurate, and accessible Performance Optimization & Continuous Improvement: Assist in monitoring and analyzing emerging risks, industry trends, and regulatory requirements (including ISO 22301 and NFPA 1600) to continuously enhance and mature BC plans and program effectiveness Assist in managing and reporting the status of BC program initiatives to senior leadership contributing to insights, mitigation strategies, and continuous improvement recommendations Support identifying opportunities to incorporate Lean Manufacturing principles into continuity planning to enhance efficiency, resilience, and operational uptime Training & Team Support: Assist in coordinating cross-functional teams in the design and execution of BC exercises, simulations, and drills to support readiness and validate plan effectiveness Develop knowledge and provide support and guidance for Business Continuity initiatives, providing assistance and input to employees at all levels to foster a culture of resilience and preparedness Cross-Functional Collaboration & Communication: Partner with and support coordination across internal departments, including Operations, IT, Security, and Supply Chain, to align resilience objectives and integrate BC initiatives into broader organizational and operational strategies Support cross-functional communication during incidents, including escalation and coordination of response and recovery efforts Quality, Safety, & Compliance: Ensure business continuity plans, exercises, and program activities align with applicable regulatory requirements, industry standards (including ISO 22301 and NFPA 1600), and organizational risk management frameworks Support audit activities and assessments related to business continuity, ensuring documentation accuracy, compliance readiness, and continuous program improvement Travel Requirement: Minimal travel may be required for training, site support, or coordination across locations (typically less than 10%) Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements: To ensure the health and safety in the workplace and for the protection of our employees, wearing PPE is a possibility and may include equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, bump cap, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator. Qualifications Requirements - Required and/or Preferred Required Education, Certifications, and Licenses: Bachelor’s degree in Business Continuity, Risk Management, Emergency Management, Business Management, Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, or a closely related field Relevant and substantial Business Continuity or risk management experience may be substituted for required education Professional certification in Business Continuity (e.g., MBCI, CBCP) required at time of hire, or willingness and ability to obtain certification within 6–12 months of hire Preferred: Master’s degree in Risk Management, Emergency Management, Business Management, Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, or a closely related field CBCP (Certified Business Continuity Professional) ISO 22301 Lead Auditor PMP (Project Management Professional) Essential Qualifications: 4+ years of experience in Business Continuity, with demonstrated experience in complex or high-paced operational environments Experience contributing to the development and implementation of Business Continuity plans within manufacturing, industrial, or other highly operational, complex environments Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously Excellent analytical skills, including experience conducting risk assessments and business impact analyses (BIAs) and translating findings into actionable strategies Experience in crisis management and emergency response planning, with understanding of supply chain and production operations Experience supporting audits, compliance reviews, or certification efforts related to business continuity or resilience programs Proficiency in Business Continuity technology and software platforms (e.g., Fusion or similar systems) Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English Alignment to Panasonic’s seven (7) core principles (contribution to society, fairness and honesty, cooperation and team spirit, untiring effort for improvement, courtesy and humility, adaptability, gratitude) Preferred Qualifications: 6+ years of progressive Business Continuity experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting Experience in high-volume battery manufacturing or a related industrial environment such as electronics, automotive, or energy storage Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and their integration into continuity planning Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards, including ISO 22301 and NFPA 1600 Experience with enterprise Business Continuity tools such as Fusion Physical Demands: Physical Activities: Percentage of time (equaling 100%) during the normal workday the employee is required to: Sit: 40% Walk: 30% Stand: 30% Required Lifting and Carrying: Rare (
