Position Summary The Business Development Team (BDT) Representative is responsible for supporting the commercial sales process by preparing quotations, developing estimates, maintaining customer opportunities within the CRM, and processing sales transactions within Acumatica. This position serves as the primary internal resource for ensuring opportunities are accurately documented, quotations are completed in a timely manner, and customer purchase orders are efficiently transitioned into Sales Orders or Projects. The BDT Representative works collaboratively with the outside sales team, customers, and internal departments to provide exceptional customer service while ensuring data accuracy and a seamless transition from inquiry through order execution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Opportunity & CRM Management
- Create and maintain customer opportunities within the CRM.
- Update opportunity stages and maintain accurate records throughout the sales process.
- Ensure all opportunity information is complete and current.
- Maintain documentation related to customer inquiries and quotations.
- Work closely with the Outside Sales Team and support them as necessary.
Quotation & Estimating
- Prepare and submit accurate and timely customer quotations.
- Develop estimates using established pricing guidelines and company standards.
- Review customer requirements to ensure that quotations are complete and accurate.
- Process quote revisions and maintain version control as project requirements evolve.
- Coordinate with internal resources to obtain pricing, engineering, and technical information when required.
- Keep the Outside Sales team informed of quote stages as well as copy on submittals.
Sales Order & Project Processing
- Review customer Purchase Orders for accuracy and completeness.
- Alert the Outside Sales Team of any incoming purchase orders.
- Convert accepted quotations into Sales Orders or Projects within Acumatica.
- Verify pricing, quantities, specifications, and required documentation before order release.
- Ensure that all supporting documentation is properly attached and maintained within the ERP system.
- Coordinate the transition of awarded work to Operations for execution.
Customer Service & Communication
- Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries.
- Provide customers with updates regarding quotations, orders, and project status.
- Coordinate information between customers and internal departments.
- Follow up on outstanding quotations and requested information.
- Build positive customer relationships through timely and effective communication.
- Provide Outside Sales team with updates regarding quotations, orders, and project status.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Outside Sales, Engineering, Operations, Purchasing, Production, Accounting, Shipping, and other internal departments to ensure customer requirements are accurately communicated, and projects move efficiently through the organization.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Associate degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
- Experience in customer service, inside sales, estimating, project coordination, or industrial manufacturing is preferred.
- ERP and CRM experience, Acumatica is a plus.
