The Business Intelligence Analyst is focused on developing impactful solutions for key stakeholders within a defined pillar of the business. The BI analyst works within a team to understand customer data and information needs, and provides support through data exploration, interpretation, statistical analysis, report development, and visual storytelling. They regularly attend meetings with customer stakeholders to provide work updates, understand project priorities, and establish deliverable timelines. They are a member of a team comprised of professionals working together to develop technical products focused on enabling Pye-Barker strategic initiatives and operational targets.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Data Analytics & Business Intelligence:

  • Develop, optimize, and maintain SQL queries and data pipelines to support business intelligence initiatives

  • Design, build, and maintain Tableau dashboards and reports that drive data-informed decision-making

  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions using SQL and Tableau

  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and accessibility across analytics platforms

  • Stakeholder Support & Partnership:

  • Partner with business leaders and executives to understand analytics needs and priorities

  • Deliver high-level expertise and support to stakeholders across the organization

  • Develop deep understanding of business operations and data across assigned areas

  • Support executives and operations teams with timely, actionable data insights

  • Process & Continuous Improvement:

  • Maintain and refine internal processes and workflows using SQL and Tableau

  • Coordinate resources to streamline data delivery and reporting workflows

  • Stay current with Tableau and SQL best practices to advance technical proficiency

  • Apply creative problem-solving to enhance data solutions and team success

  • General:

  • Work independently with minimal direction

  • Quickly master new tools and technologies

  • Professional communication skills

Education/Qualification:  

  • Technical Skills (Primary):

    Advanced SQL proficiency: Write complex queries, optimize historical code, understand SQL best practices

    Tableau expertise: Design interactive dashboards, managing data sources, developing reports for business stakeholders

    Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

    Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in statistics, mathematics, information systems, data analytics, finance, business management, or economics, OR

  • Bachelor's degree in another field plus 2+ years of relevant data analysis experience (with demonstrated SQL and Tableau skills), OR

  • Equivalent demonstrated expertise in SQL and Tableau with strong relevant experience

  • Soft Skills:

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication

  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently

  • Aptitude for developing subject matter expertise in assigned business areas

Other Duties:
