Job Description

Position Summary

The Senior Business Intelligence Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the organization’s data and reporting solutions. This role oversees data ingestion processes, optimizes SQL-based data environments, and delivers high-quality Power BI reports and dashboards that support operational and strategic decision-making.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in SQL and Power BI, experience with API-driven data ingestion and PowerShell scripting, and a forward-looking mindset to help modernize the company’s BI platform through technologies such as Snowflake or Microsoft Fabric.

This role plays a critical part in enabling data-driven insights across mortgage operations, including loan lifecycle management, compliance reporting, and performance analytics.

Key Responsibilities

Data Engineering & Integration

  • Manage and enhance data ingestion pipelines
  • Maintain and optimize SQL databases that support reporting and analytics
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve data ingestion and data quality issues to ensure integrity, performance, and reliability
  • Maintain consistent data definitions across systems
  • Support data governance practices aligned with regulatory expectations
  • Document data sources, transformations, and business logic

Business Intelligence & Reporting

  • Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports
  • Translate business requirements into scalable, intuitive reporting solutions in partnership with stakeholders
  • Optimize datasets, data models, and report performance
  • Support operational reporting and ad hoc analysis, including production metrics, turn times, and pipeline reporting

Modernization & Strategic Initiatives

  • Support the evaluation, migration planning, validation, and adoption of modern data platforms, such as Snowflake and Microsoft Fabric
  • Help design scalable, cloud-based architectures for modern analytics
  • Identify opportunities to improve BI processes, tooling, and platform efficiency

Collaboration & Support

  • Partner with IT, operations, and business teams to align data solutions with business priorities
  • Provide guidance on BI best practices and reporting standards


Qualifications

Required

  • 5+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or a related field
  • Advanced SQL skills, including complex querying, data modeling, and performance tuning
  • Strong expertise in Power BI, including DAX, visualization design, and dataset optimization
  • Experience with API-based data ingestion and PowerShell or comparable scripting languages
  • Experience managing and troubleshooting data pipelines
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Preferred

  • Experience with modern cloud data platforms such as Snowflake or Microsoft Fabric
  • Experience supporting BI modernization or migration initiatives
  • Familiarity with Azure data services and cloud-based analytics architectures
  • Experience working in regulated data environments with strong governance requirements
  • Mortgage or financial services experience, including reporting across the loan lifecycle, compliance, or operational performance metrics
