Job Summary:
Responsible for assisting the Business Office to ensure the facility is receiving payment for all Residents. The Business Office Assistant is also responsible for distributing cash to residents and assisting with their financial needs. General office tasks as needed such as mail distribution, filing, copying/scanning and answering phones.
Major Duties and Critical Tasks:
1. Ensures integrity and confidentiality of all patient’s financial data.
2. Discuss with new residents and/or their responsible party their insurance coverage, plan of stay and any other financial information needed.
3. Distribute resident funds daily and as requested by the resident. Post resident withdrawals and replenish resident petty cash fund as needed.
4. Assist other office staff with various office duties.
5. Participate in weekly calls with corporate billing office to track progress and workflow.

o Is knowledgeable of patient/resident rights and promotes an atmosphere which allows for the privacy, dignity, and well-being of all residents in a safe, secure environment.
o Confidentiality and privacy of all data, including patient/resident, employee, and operations data.
o Compliance with all regulatory requirements.
o Compliance with and enforcement of current law and policy to provide a work environment free from harassment and all illegal and discriminatory behavior.
o Uses tactful, appropriate communications in sensitive and emotional situations.
o Reports complaints, problems, and concerns regarding residents in accordance with company policy.
o Promotes positive public relations with patients, residents, family members, and guests.
o Completes requirements for in-service training, acceptable attendance, uniform and dress codes including personal hygiene, and other work duties as assigned.
o Agrees to comply with the Standards of Conduct.
Required Education and Experience:
o Must possess, at a minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook is preferred.
Working Conditions:
Works in office areas as well as throughout the facility. Must be able to move about intermittently during working hours including standing, lifting, bending, stooping, twisting, pushing and pulling. Must be able to read, write and speak the English language. Interacts with residents, family members, staff, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc., under all conditions/ circumstances. May be involved in community/civic health matters/ projects. Must be able to effectively communicate with the management staff, medical staff, nursing staff, and other departments. Maintains a liaison with residents, their families, support staff, etc. to assure that the residents' needs are continually met.
