Description

Business Office Specialist - PRN

The Surgical Center at Columbia Orthopaedic Group

Behind every great Surgery Center is a team of people who somehow keep all the moving pieces... moving. Schedules line up. Insurance gets verified. Claims go out. Patients feel welcomed. Phones ring. Charts get handled. And somehow, the day still keeps rolling.

That’s where you come in. We are currently hiring for both a full-time and PRN version of this role. Our PRN team members play an important part in helping support schedule flexibility, coverage needs, and busy surgery center days when an extra set of hands is needed most.

The Surgical Center at Columbia Orthopaedic Group is looking for a Business Office Specialist who can jump into the action, pivot when needed, and keep things running smoothly without missing a beat. This is not a “sit quietly and do the same task every day” kind of role. Our team wears many hats, supports one another, and works together to create an excellent experience for both patients and coworkers.

One day may focus heavily on insurance verification and authorizations. Another may involve helping patients at the front desk, handling payment posting, assisting with medical records, or tackling billing follow-up. If you enjoy variety, teamwork, and staying busy, you’ll probably fit right in here.

Requirements

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Enjoys a fast-paced healthcare environment

  • Communicates well with patients, providers, and coworkers

  • Can stay organized while balancing multiple priorities

  • Is willing to jump in and help wherever needed

  • Brings a positive attitude and team-first mindset to work each day

Summary

Healthcare business office experience is required, and ASC experience is a huge plus. Familiarity with insurance verification, billing workflows, authorizations, and medical records processes will help you hit the ground running. Comfort with EHR systems and Microsoft Office is also important.

What makes this role special is the flexibility and cross-training built into the position. We truly operate as a team, and we value people who are adaptable, dependable, and willing to learn different parts of the business office. No getting stuck in a silo over here.

At Columbia Orthopaedic Group, we believe culture matters. We work hard, support one another, celebrate wins, and continue building an environment where people enjoy coming to work. Our Surgery Center team plays a huge role in that mission every single day.

If you’re someone who likes staying busy, solving problems, helping patients, and being part of a team that genuinely works together, we’d love to hear from you.

Come grow with us!
