POSTION: Seasonal Program Staff- Outdoor Education

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Program Staff at Ozarks Regional YMCA ensures that seasonal camping programs meet community needs by implementing existing program activities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Assist in implementation of Outdoor Education program
Participate in Outdoor Education training.
Facilitate classes and follow curriculum when working with visiting school groups.
Facilitate Archery and Firebuilding curriculum.
Run lakefront activities such as boating and fishing
Predict, prevent, identify and respond to safety issues.
Communicate with all guests in a mature, responsible fashion.
Assist in program development and advancement.
Participate in daily cleaning of program buildings as assigned
Work in other departments or program areas as assigned.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be 18 years old with high school diploma or equivalent.
Must be available throughout the fall semester (September 1st-November 1st)
Must be able to align with and demonstrate the YMCA four core values on a consistent basis.
CPR Pro & First Aid Certification required within first 30 days (training can be provided)
Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
