Job Description: Campus Care - Janitorial Services

Location: Southaven, MS, 38671

Position Summary

The Campus Care/Janitorial Worker supports the mission of Brown Missionary Baptist Church by ensuring that all facilities are clean, safe, and welcoming for members, guests, and staff. This position plays a vital role in maintaining a positive environment that reflects excellence, stewardship, and care in every area of ministry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily cleaning of assigned areas including offices, classrooms, restrooms, sanctuary, hallways, and common areas.
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and sanitize all surfaces according to schedule.
  • Empty trash receptacles, replace liners, and dispose of waste properly.
  • Restock supplies such as paper products, soap, and cleaning materials.
  • Ensure all restrooms, kitchens, and fellowship areas are clean and ready for use.
  • Assist with setup, breakdown, and cleaning for church services, programs, meetings, and special events.
  • Move furniture, chairs, and equipment as needed to support ministry activities.
  • Monitor facilities for maintenance or safety concerns and report issues immediately.
  • Use cleaning supplies and equipment safely and responsibly in accordance with training and guidelines.
  • Help maintain a secure environment by ensuring doors are locked and lights are turned off when appropriate.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior janitorial, custodial, or housekeeping experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive physical tasks.
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining a clean, organized environment.
  • Must exhibit a positive attitude, integrity, and a heart to serve others.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as ministry needs require.
