Position Title: Career Navigator (Hybrid)

Location: Lynchburg, VA Benefits:

Summary: As a WIOA Hybrid Career Navigator, you'll be at the heart of our mission to support adults and youth seeking meaningful employment or career pathways. You'll work closely with participants to develop personalized employment plans, collaborate with training providers, and connect with community resources to eliminate barriers to success. Success In This Role Looks Like:

  • Efficient Case Management: Successfully maintain and manage a caseload of 30-50 active participants, providing individualized support and ensuring timely progress. This role requires meticulous documentation, strong attention to detail, and the ability to juggle multiple tasks and files simultaneously. Adherence to specific grant funding requirements is crucial, as meeting these standards ensures the continued success and funding of our programs. Your dedication to precise and organized case management will directly contribute to the positive outcomes for our participants and the sustainability of our services.
  • Participant Advocacy: Passionately advocate for participants, resolving personal obstacles that hinder their academic or employment goals.
  • Comprehensive Career Counseling: Deliver exceptional guidance and career counseling to adults (18 and older) and youth (aged 14 – 24) helping them navigate their career paths and achieve their goals.
  • Effective Coordination: Collaborate seamlessly with service providers, schools, training institutions, and employers, ensuring all necessary documentation is collected and participant progress is verified.
  • Building Positive Relationships: Develop and nurture strong relationships with training providers, schools, employers, and local agencies to offer the most effective services possible.
  • Program Services Management: Establish and monitor various training and work readiness services, including ITAs, OJT, work experiences, and apprenticeships, ensuring participants are well-placed and supported.
  • Accurate Documentation and Reporting: Register participants in the state data system, process purchases and invoices, track spending, and complete all required monthly reports with precision and diligence.

What You Bring To The Team:

  • Proficiency in Office Technology: Mastery of Microsoft Suite, Excel, Power-Point, and TEAMS, paired with a solid understanding of standard office and clerical procedures.
  • Team Collaboration: A proven ability to work effectively and respectfully within diverse team environments, fostering positive relationships with coworkers, program staff, and clientele.
  • Exceptional Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication skills and the ability to build meaningful connections within the community, ensuring effective and compassionate service delivery.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Willingness to learn WIOA regulations and the ability to accurately complete applications, forms, and interpret instructions in various settings.
  • Project Management: Expertise in managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously, while maintaining neatness, accuracy, and a high degree of organization with large quantities of data and documentation.

Requirements for Consideration:

  • Associates Degree or higher.
  • 1 year of career readiness experience.
  • 1 year of case management experience.
  • A valid US driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to pass and maintain background check clearances.
