In your future role as a Category Manager, you will

 

The role is open within the Procurement function. Your scope will be to run strategic product related procurement projects with a total annual value of 50 to 100 million USD.

You will have exposure to high level business decision making. The chance to work with various stakeholders. Amongst them: a mature global procurement team, suppliers, site planners & senior management (Directors & Vice Presidents). On top of that the opportunity to drive and lead global continuous improvement projects.
Procurement is organized into three distinct segments, covering a broad portfolio of products and services - Direct materials, indirect materials & logistics.

This role focuses on strategic sourcing of raw materials only.

You will be working in an international procurement team and reporting directly to the Procurement Director of the EMEIA region.

 

As a Global Category Manager, you make an important contribution to the execution of the business strategy:

 

  • Advanced strategic thinking skills with ability to analyze data, understand interdependencies and develop strategies at a regional or global category level.
  • Actively engage with key stakeholders from different Business Lines to understand business requirements and incorporate them into the supplier selection and decision making process.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to align technical and commercial requirements, secure total costs and inculcate long-term partnership with key suppliers.
  • Develop category strategies at a regional or global level. Explore cost reduction opportunities and establish a total cost of ownership approach internally and with external suppliers.
  • Actively work to improve commercial terms with suppliers, identify ways to support minimize spending and reduce cost to support the company’s financial objectives.

 

 

We believe you bring

 

  • Minimum 5 years procurement experience in strategic procurement and category management.
  • Bachelor or master’s degree related to the industry.
  • Advanced strategic thinking skills & extensive negotiation experience.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Comprehensive experience of working with international sourcing across regions in high complexity environment.
  • Strong stakeholder management & capability to build strong internal and external relationships.
  • Fluent in English, both verbal as well as in writing.
  • Travel (15 – 20 %) is expected.
