Description

  Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Heavy Equipment Construction Safety Professional to support and promote a strong safety culture across our construction operations. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with company policies, OSHA regulations, and project-specific safety requirements while working closely with field personnel, supervisors, and project management teams. The ideal candidate will have experience in heavy civil construction, excavation, earthmoving operations, trucking, and heavy equipment environments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine jobsite safety inspections and audits. 
  • Monitor work activities to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies. 
  • Identify hazards and implement corrective actions to eliminate or reduce risk. 
  • Lead incident investigations and prepare detailed reports with corrective action recommendations. 
  • Conduct new hire safety orientations and site-specific training. 
  • Facilitate toolbox talks, safety meetings, and ongoing employee training programs. 
  • Review Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs), and work plans. 
  • Assist project teams in developing safe work procedures and site-specific safety plans. 
  • Monitor excavation, trenching, confined space, fall protection, lockout/tagout, and equipment operations. 
  • Maintain required safety documentation, records, and regulatory reports. 
  • Coordinate with project management and operations personnel to address safety concerns. 
  • Respond to incidents, emergencies, and near-miss events as needed. 
  • Serve as a safety resource and mentor to field employees. 
Requirements

  Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of construction safety experience preferred. 
  • Experience working around heavy equipment, excavation, earthmoving, trucking, utility construction, or civil construction projects. 
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, and clients. 
  • Experience conducting incident investigations and root cause analyses. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs and electronic reporting systems. 
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record. 
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification preferred. 
  • First Aid/CPR certification preferred. 
  • CHST, STSC, ASP, CSP, or equivalent certifications are a plus. 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. 
  • Ability to walk uneven terrain, climb ladders, enter excavations, and access active construction sites. 
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds. 
  • Ability to travel between project locations as needed.
