Description

The following duties will vary according to the needs of the department. Normal duties will include:

• • Candidate will be responsible for delivering equipment to the construction site from existing hatcheries

• • Maintaining Bio-Security and Animal Welfare protocols

• • Adhere to DOT regulations including accurately maintaining electronic driver log entries

Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes: 

• • Must have a current Class-A CDL driver’s license with a clean driving record.

• • Must be able to perform physically demanding aspects of the job including loading and unloading delivery trucks.

• • Possess strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees, customers and outside contractors.

• • Ability to perform tasks with accuracy and efficiency in the highest regard to quality and safety.

• • Must follow company protocols and provide inputs for continuous improvement to all processes.

As part of employment at Aviagen, our employees cannot own at their home address any type of birds (chickens, turkeys, parakeets, emu's, etc) or come into close contact with birds thru family, friends, neighbors, flea markets, etc.

Summary

Aviagen is a primary poultry breeding company and we have a chick hatchery under construction in Quitman, GA.  We are seeking an outstanding individual to fill a CDL driver position.  This individual will initially be responsible for transporting equipment during construction.
