CDL Delivery Driver | Shipping & Receiving Support
Location: Brandon, SD
Service Area: Primarily local deliveries within 150 air miles of Brandon, SD
Schedule: M-F
Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable, customer-focused CDL Delivery Driver / Shipping & Receiving Support team member to join our private fleet operation based in Brandon, SD. This position is responsible for safely loading, transporting, and delivering materials to customers while providing excellent service at each stop. This role will start and end each day in Brandon, SD, with the expectation of being home every night.
In addition to local delivery responsibilities, this position will flex into shipping and receiving support as business needs require. The ideal candidate is safety-minded, self-motivated, professional with customers, and willing to support warehouse and shipping operations when not on the road.
Essential Functions:
Delivery & Transportation
  • Safely operate a CDL truck for local and regional deliveries within approximately 150 air miles of Brandon, SD
  • Start and end each workday from the Brandon, SD location
  • Load, secure, transport, and unload materials in a safe and efficient manner
  • Verify load accuracy before departure and confirm delivery paperwork upon arrival
  • Inspect cargo to ensure it is properly secured and protected during transport
  • Follow established delivery routes, schedules, and DOT/company safety requirements
  • Conduct pre-trip, post-trip, and routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance concerns promptly
  • Maintain cleanliness and basic care of assigned truck and delivery equipment
Customer Service
  • Serve as a professional representative of the company during deliveries and pickups
  • Communicate clearly and courteously with customers at delivery locations
  • Ensure deliveries are completed accurately, on time, and in a professional manner
  • Address routine delivery issues with a calm, solution-oriented attitude and communicate concerns back to the appropriate internal team
  • Build positive working relationships with customers through reliable service and professionalism
Shipping & Receiving / Warehouse Support
  • Assist with shipping, receiving, staging, and material handling activities when not making deliveries
  • Help load outbound shipments and unload inbound materials
  • Verify quantities, inspect materials, and assist with organizing inventory and shipment preparation
  • Support warehouse flow, dock activity, and general shipping/receiving operations as needed
  • Work collaboratively with shipping, warehouse, and operations teams to meet daily priorities
Qualifications
  • Valid CDL license with acceptable driving record
  • Current medical card and ability to meet DOT requirements
  • Prior experience in delivery driving, trucking, shipping/receiving, warehouse operations, or material handling preferred
  • Strong commitment to safety, compliance, and customer service
  • Ability to load and unload materials and perform physical work throughout the day
  • Forklift experience preferred (or willingness to become certified, if applicable)
  • Ability to work independently while also supporting team operations
  • Strong attention to detail with paperwork, load accuracy, and delivery documentation
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Basic understanding of shipping, receiving, and warehouse processes
  • Ability to adapt between driving duties and facility support tasks
  • Strong time management and route discipline

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS:
Physical Requirements: Required to sit, stand, walk, bend, and reach. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
