Position Summary:
The Certified Crane Operator is responsible for operating crane equipment to lift, move, and place materials or equipment at construction sites, ensuring safety, precision, and compliance with industry regulations. Working closely with the Crew Supervisor, the Crane Operator must be skilled in handling various crane types and must adhere strictly to safety protocols at all times.

Essential Functions:
Crane Operation: Operate cranes to lift, move, and position loads safely, following load charts, operating procedures, and safety guidelines.
Load Management: Accurately estimate load weights, calculate lifting capacities, and ensure safe lifting and placement of materials.
Safety Compliance: Follow all OSHA regulations, site safety protocols, and company policies, including wearing PPE and conducting regular safety checks.
Pre-Operation & Post-Operation Inspections: Perform routine inspections and maintenance checks on crane equipment before and after operations, ensuring it is in proper working condition, and report any malfunctions or issues to the Crew Supervisor.
Communication: Work closely with signal persons, riggers, and crew members, using hand signals, radios, or other communication methods to ensure safe and efficient crane operations.
Equipment Maintenance: Maintain crane equipment, ensuring it is clean, well-lubricated, and in good working order; coordinate with maintenance personnel for repairs as needed.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of crane operations, inspections, and maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Rigging Knowledge: Understand and apply proper rigging techniques to secure loads, ensuring they are balanced and safely attached before lifting.
Site Coordination: Assist the Crew Supervisor in planning crane operations to ensure efficient workflow and minimal downtime on job sites.
Other Functions:
Assist with other construction-related tasks as directed by the Crew Supervisor.
Participate in safety meetings, training sessions, and site evaluations to enhance knowledge and skills.
Position Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED.
NCCCO (National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators) certification or equivalent required.
CDL required
Must pass a background check, MVR check, pre-employment drug screen, and physical examination.
Experience & Skills:
Minimum of 2 years of experience operating cranes in a construction or industrial environment preferred.
Experience with different crane types (e.g., mobile, tower, rough terrain) is a plus.
Strong knowledge of crane operations, load charts, rigging techniques, and safety protocols.
Ability to read and interpret load charts, blueprints, and job site plans.
Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a team.
Physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions.
