We are seeking a detail-oriented, compassionate, and skilled Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our Heart & Vascular Institute - Mooresville team. This role plays an essential part in supporting our providers, delivering high-quality patient care, and ensuring efficient clinical operations within a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
 
Schedule: 8:45AM-5:15PM, Monday - Friday

Location: Heart and Vascular Institute - Mooresville

What We're Looking For:
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
  • Experience: Previous work in a medical office, preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: Current certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire as CMA, RMA or CCMA, required. Current State Driver’s License (Palliative Care Only), required.
    • Candidate will provide proof of current certification from one of the approved certifying registries including: • CMA with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) • CCMA with the National Health Career Association (NHA) • RMA with the American Medical Technologists (AMT) • American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA) • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) • National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) • American Allied Health (AAH) RMA with the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA). If a candidate is not currently certified, they must obtain certification or registration by the end of the sixth month of their hire and sign an education agreement
  • Additional skills required: Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific skills validation and competency testing.


What You'll Do:
  • Prepare patients for appointments by obtaining vitals, performing EKGs, and updating medical histories.
  • Clinical Support and Testing.
  • Keep patients informed about their visit, testing processes, and next steps for care.
  • Embody the Novant Health human experience by delivering kindness, empathy, and professionalism in every encounter.
  • Partner closely with Providers and Nurses to coordinated care.
