Job Description

Schedule: 12pm to 8am. 5 nights a week. Rotating Weekends. 

Berkshire Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is committed to improving our patients' quality of life & autonomy through innovative rehabilitative services, and an exceptional level of client-centered care and attention. We are seeking a caring and dedicated Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse to be a Charge Nurse in our rapidly growing team at our skilled nursing facility in West Babylon!

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain accurate patient records and closely monitor vital signs.

  • Lead and support our dedicated nursing staff, providing supervision and assistance.

  • Manage daily administrative tasks, including scheduling, assigning duties, and overseeing patient care.

  • Coordinate patient admissions, transfers, and discharges for seamless transitions.

  • Communicate patient status to the Unit Manager.

  • Foster a nurturing and collaborative work environment, offering guidance to staff members.

  • Provide empathetic support to patients and their families during challenging times.

  • Collaborate with doctors and administrators to optimize patient care and outcomes.

  • Communicate protocol updates efficiently to ensure smooth operations.

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, creating a safe environment for all.

  • Keep essential reports up-to-date to maintain operational efficiency.

  • Respond swiftly and calmly to any emergencies or issues that arise.

Minimum Qualifications include:

  • Currently licensed as Registered Nurse in New York State OR Currently is a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in New York State.

  • Strong leadership and management skills

  • Has knowledge of Federal and State health regulations

  • Experience with care plans and strong documentation skills

  • BLS Certification

  • RN License
