What will you do?
We are looking for an experienced Claims Manager to lead supervisors and teams across Clearcover’s Auto Physical Damage (APD) and Estimating functions. This role owns the full scope of APD claims operations — from property damage assessment and repair management through total loss handling and estimating workflows — while coaching people managers, driving KPI performance, and executing efficiency initiatives through process and technology improvements. The ideal candidate brings deep APD and estimating expertise, strong leadership instincts, and a technology-forward mindset.
People Leadership & Team Development
- Coach, develop, and hold accountable the APD and Estimating supervisors on your team, providing regular feedback and enabling them to get the best from their direct reports
- Oversee hiring strategy, performance management, and professional development across APD and Estimating teams
- Build and reinforce performance standards, driving accountability and a culture of continuous improvement across both functions
- Keep the team motivated and focused while remaining accountable for overall team performance against departmental goals
APD & Estimating Operations
- Manage all APD and estimating activities in accordance with established claims policies and procedures
- Oversee the accuracy and quality of vehicle damage assessments, repair estimates, and total loss valuations across the team
- Monitor claim files to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies and state regulations
- Assist in evaluating and monitoring claims estimating partner relationships, including repair networks and appraisal vendors
- Handle and respond to DOI, BBB, and diminished value claims and complaints in a timely and compliant manner
- Provide in-depth reporting on APD and estimating metrics and communicate results to executive leadership
Strategy & Process Improvement
- Identify and assess internal trends for efficiency gains across APD and estimating workflows
- Lead large, high-priority cross-functional projects with significant impact on claims operations and company direction
- Partner with Product to brainstorm and drive improvements to the customer and internal team experience
- Partner with leadership in defining department vision, goals, and strategy for the APD and Estimating functions
- Champion the adoption of AI-powered estimating and APD analytics tools to identify trends, automate routine reporting, improve cycle times, and surface performance insights across both functions
What do you need?
- Bachelor’s degree or commensurate work experience
- Minimum of 5 years of people management experience required
- Minimum of 10 years of combined experience in auto physical damage and estimating, including leadership or supervisory roles at a P&C carrier
- Strong technical background in coverage and liability investigation and determination
- Strong technical background in vehicle damage assessment, repair estimating, and total loss — Mitchell Estimating experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of the total loss process including advanced charges, salvage best practices, and diminished value
- Strategic thinker — flexible and adaptable to rapid change and growth
- Exceptional interpersonal skills — able to influence decisions cross-functionally and among executive leadership
- Ability to obtain and maintain an adjuster’s license as required
- Proficiency with AI-assisted APD and estimating tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot) to drive team efficiency, automate reporting, and surface operational insights preferred
Bonus Points:
- Experience managing both field and virtual appraisers
- Florida claims handling experience
- Experience in an insurtech or technology-forward claims environment
- Track record of leading cross-functional process improvement or automation initiatives in APD or estimating
- Hands-on experience using AI tools to automate APD estimates, flag outlier files, accelerate cycle times, or surface performance trends across an estimating team

Base Compensation Range: $95,000 - $115,000 (USD) annually
