Job Description
Position Overview
The Clinic CMA plays a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care within both medical and behavioral health settings. This position is responsible for assisting providers and clinical staff to ensure efficient patient/client flow. The Clinic CMA performs routine administrative and clinical tasks and helps ensure positive care experiences for all patients/clients at the Family Health Center.
 
$2,000 sign-on bonus for any new FULL TIME CMA – 1-year commitment.
 
This position is a .6 FTE at our Willows FHC location. Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday 8A-5P.
 
Essential Functions
  • Prepare exam rooms and patients for provider visits, procedures, and treatments
  • Obtain and review medical histories, medications, vital signs, and other health information
  • Assist providers during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort
  • Administer medications as directed by licensed providers, in accordance with scope of practice
  • Perform basic laboratory tests
  • Accurately document all patient interactions in the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Coordinate referrals, prior authorizations and medication calls as needed
  • Maintain neat and clean work and storage areas, specifically supplies
  • Complies with all regulatory, state, and federal regulations as well as FHC policies and procedures
  • Obtains and maintains required competencies for the role
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Work-Related Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in primary care, mental health, or integrated healthcare setting preferred.

  • Frequent standing, walking, and occasional lifting of patients or equipment (up to 20 lbs).
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions, including typing for EHR documentation.
  • Frequent standing, walking, and reaching to provide patient care.
  • Dexterity to perform hands-on procedures such as injections and diagnostic testing.
  • Occasional exposure to bodily fluids, infectious diseases, and hazardous materials; adherence to infection control protocols is required.
  • Prolonged sitting at a desk with frequent computer use.
Working Conditions:
  • Clinical environment with exposure to infectious diseases, hazardous materials, and emotionally challenging patient cases.

Education, Certification, and Licensure

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Certification: Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited program
Licensure: Must have a valid driver's license
