About the Role

Torus is seeking experienced CNC Fabrication Specialists to join our production team at GigaOne. In this role, you will not just watch a machine run—you will be responsible for the setup, operation, and precision optimization of high-end, state-of-the-art automated fabrication equipment, including automated panel benders, precision press brakes, and advanced tube/plate laser systems.

This role requires strong technical aptitude, blueprint-reading expertise, and the ability to troubleshoot complex machine setups to ensure efficient, high-quality production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, calibrate, program, and operate advanced CNC sheet metal fabrication equipment (lasers, press brakes, and automated benders).
  • Interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and flat-pattern layouts to execute accurate part production.
  • Monitor machine performance, make real-time adjustments to cutting/bending parameters, and troubleshoot structural or mechanical variances.
  • Conduct structural quality checks on finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and protractors to ensure strict adherence to tolerances.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on machinery to maximize operational uptime and safety.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineers and floor supervisors to optimize material yields and continuous improvement targets.

Required Experience

  • 3–5+ years of hands-on experience in CNC machine setup, operation, and troubleshooting within a precision metal fabrication environment.
  • Proven proficiency in reading and interpreting structural engineering drawings, welding symbols, and blueprints.
  • Strong understanding of sheet metal properties, bend allowances, and precision measuring tools (calipers, height gauges, etc.).
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability regarding machine error codes or material defects.
  • Commitment to strict industrial safety standards (PPE, lock-out/tag-out protocols).

Preferred Experience

  • Technical certifications or vocational training in manufacturing, machining, or mechanical disciplines.
  • Direct experience operating high-end automated bending cells or structural tube lasers.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing concepts or continuous improvement environments.

Physical Requirements

  • Must have the ability to safely lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be capable of standing, bending, and executing repetitive tasks for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to read, identify, and recognize details, color-coding, and fine print at close range on associated engineering drawings.
