Job: CNC Machinist - Urgently hiring.
RWT Corp. dba Schaefer Machine.
Manufacturer of a full line of glue coating machinery, roll coating machines, and lamination equipment for industrial and commercial applications.

About Us:
  • Schaefer Machine manufactures a full line of glue coating machinery, roll coating machines, and lamination equipment for industrial and commercial application located along the shoreline in Madison, CT. We are looking for an experienced and versatile person to fill the position of a CNC Machinist.
  • Compensation Range: Depends on the proficiency of description items up to $45/hour.

Qualifications:
  • Knowledge and experience with safe operation of Bridgeport, drill press, lathe, and other metalworking machines.
  • CNC experience MUST including set-up and operation.
  • Set up and machine parts according to established process documents.
  • Establish and/or edit process documents on first-time runs or when necessary.
  • Able to inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, tape measure, depth and thread gauges and identify defective parts, unusual conditions, errors, or operational difficulties and report them to supervisor.
  • Develop fixtures and plan out order of operations.
  • Understand blueprints, sketches, drawings, operation sheets, and verbal orders and machine parts accordingly.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision and guidance.
  • Maintain neat work area, tools and equipment necessary to perform daily tasks.
  • Knowledge of machining practices for various materials (Stainless Steel, Carbon Steel, brass, bronze, aluminum, plastics) and ability to determine safe and efficient feeds and speeds.
  • Keep track of cutter inventory (drills, carbide inserts, taps, etc.) and fill out request forms for tools required for upcoming work.
  • Advise and assist others in the machine shop as requested.
  • Perform additional machine shop related activated as required.

Physical Requirements:
  • Lifting 1- 50 lbs., occasionally 51-100 lbs.
  • Pushing & pulling 1-50 lbs., occasionally 51-100 lbs.
  • Repetitive use of hands and feet required (both right & left.
  • Frequently- Standing, bending, reaching, handling, and grasping.
  • Required to sit/stand/walk 8-10 hours per day.
