Role Summary:



The Commercial Loan Credit Analyst III is responsible for analyzing commercial credit requests and assisting with credit approval recommendations based on analysis and review. They work closely with the regional commercial sales team and their commercial members to underwrite loan requests. The analyst is involved with spreading financial statements, tax returns and the calculation of cash flows and important financial ratios. The analyst will assist in the completion of loan committee packages and help the loan officers obtain necessary documentation and provide due diligence to bring the loan request to the closing phase.



 



What You Will Be Doing: 




  1. Spread and analyze personal and business financial information as well as entity ownership structures to understand creditworthiness of proposed loan. Recommend loan structures and terms to loan officers

  2. Prepare Credit Approval Document, with ability to complete 100% of the document including financial spreadsheets, cash flow analysis, global cash flow, and RMA or other industry analysis

  3. Underwrite renewals, modifications, and extensions of existing credits

  4. Ensure that all credit files include proper documentation including current financial statements, agency reports, etc. Prepare letter requests for updated financial statements and tax returns from borrowers/guarantors and maintain tickler system

  5. Preparing letters of interest and loan commitment letters for lenders

  6. Ownership of portfolio monitoring activities including maturities, annual loan reviews, and problem loan reports

  7. Work closely with the regional commercial sales team and their commercial members

  8. Accurately process daily commercial credit transactions including, but not limited to, answering incoming phone calls, performing the initial credit analysis to determine if member’s credit requests satisfy policies and procedure guidelines, and preparing and processing all documentation for those credit transactions

  9. Provide support to credit union members and staff in explaining commercial credit policies and procedures

  10. Perform financial statement and tax return analysis on various sized entities, including RMA or other industry research

  11. Attend credit union training sessions, conferences, or seminars as approved by supervisor. Maintain awareness of policies and regulations related to duties and responsibilities

  12. Maintain a professional work environment and work under restricted time constraints

  13. Understand and apply state and federal laws, regulations, and Gesa’s business lending policies and procedures

  14. Demonstrate support of corporate values, mission, and vision. Perform job duties within these standards and in accordance with the guidelines of our bylaws and regulations
