Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

The Commercial Relationship Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining commercial client relationships while advancing portfolio growth and profitability. They provide a variety of commercial loan products and services based on the complexity of customers' needs. The Commercial Relationship Manager work closely with multiple BayFirst strategic partners to execute comprehensive commercial banking relationships, including deposit and treasury services. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages commercial customer relationships by identifying financial needs, delivering solutions to meet those needs, and providing excellent customer service.   
  • Develops new and existing deposit and credit customer relationships through networking, cross-selling opportunities, and referrals to and from business and personal product partners across BayFirst.  
  • Collaborates with Branch Managers, Treasury Services, and Market Executives to cultivate full-service banking relationships with customers. 
  • Achieves and exceeds established goals in loans, deposits, fee income, and referrals by leveraging strong customer relationships and proactive business development strategies.
  • Manages transaction processes from initial contact through close, including client needs assessment, proposal development, credit analysis, underwriting, and documentation.
  • Drives community presence through networking events, promotional activities, and strategic partnerships. 
  • Maintains extensive knowledge of BayFirst’s financial products and services to provide tailored solutions that meet diverse client needs and drive long-term relationship growth.
  • Manages portfolio performance by requesting and reviewing annual financial statements and covenant ticklers; performing site visits; and monitoring loan quality, deposit growth, and fee income to ensure profitability and minimize risk.
  • Serves as the commercial banking expert for the regional market. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in commercial lending.
  • Experience in commercial portfolio management preferred. 
  • Strong knowledge of credit analysis/underwriting processes and procedures. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrates strong problem-solving and organizational skills. 
  • Promotes a positive work environment. 
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment where changes to procedures are common. 
  • Ability to communicate in a respectful and assertive manner. 
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities. 
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision. 
  • Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales goals.
  • Proven decision-making ability.
