Job Summary:
The primary focus of this position is to support PG&E transmission and/or distribution resources executing inspection and repair work through Northern California. Office will be co-located at Investor-owned Utility Facility and remote field/yard work may be required supporting outside line crews.
Example of Duties:
- Fields team and job execution support, including information flow between office, field, vendors and subcontractors and provides direct support to line crews.
- Assists coordination of job start and job close in conjunction with Operators, Field Leadership, Project Managers, and Outage Coordinators.
- Receives and processes Outage Requests from various contractor or internal Utility Pre-fielders.
- Validates Contractor Work Checklist (CWC) information and submits Applications for Work (AFWs) to responsible Control Center.
- Utilizes PG&Es out Outage Coordination System.
- Ensures completion of all pre-work dependencies and cleared in system of record (SAP).
- Orders material for contract crews.
- Works with customer supervisors to coordinate and establish daily check-ins with contract crew administrative leads.
- Acts as primary field point-of-contact for daily time entry and tracking of Labor, Material, and Equipment (LM&Es) entries.
- Enters USA “DigAlert” tickets and track expirations.
- Requests Traffic Control when needed.
- Prepares job packages for distribution programs, compiles job packages and validates data is complete and ready for construction.
- Validates daily timesheets for accuracy and includes appropriate approvals and signatures.
- Organizes, scans and submits daily deliverables to Pro Energy’s headquarters or the supported Utility office.
- Maintains and updates job files, controlled forms/logs at the direction of Utility supervisors and Pro Energy management.
- Scopes development for New Business/WRO work and compliance work.
- Prepares scope changes when necessary.
- Reviews jobs for constructability and missing construction material in estimates.
- Tracks jobs progress to completion and communicates status to PG&E stakeholders.
- Organizes internal departments to effectively control scheduling & budgets of projects and communicates findings to internal and external stakeholders.
- Acts as a representative for senior PG&E stakeholders in internal and external meetings.
- Schedules priority and non-priority jobs and to forecasts.
- Provides variety of support, administrative, and operational tasks.
- Orders drawings, interacts with design teams.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Understands/reads circuit maps, key sketches, electric utility construction drawings, and GIS map information.
- Ability to professionally deal with a diverse group of employees, external callers and utility customers.
- Ensures the highest standards are met in the interests of PG&E.
- Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize and organize diversified workload.
- Establishes and maintains strong relationships with contractors and external PG&E stakeholders.
- Plans, coordinates and organizes work to successfully meet deadlines.
- Effectively communicates in English (written and verbal) information to customers, coworkers, and the public.
- Proficient with SAP financial software, Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.) and comfortable with basic Word documents and Excel formulas.
Experience/Education:
- Experience with proposals, bid presentations, pre-qualifications, change orders and construction job package data.
- Solid knowledge of inspection and repair work for IOU companies.
- Experience with construction material ordering and estimating and departmental scheduling and project budgeting.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Business, and/or relevant technical degree is desired.
Licenses/Certifications:
Possession of a valid California driver's license, Class C, with the ability to maintain insurability under the company’s insurance carrier.
