Job Description

Objective of the Job:
Coordinates the planning, development, implementation, communication, and maintenance of Big River Steel’s project management system while supporting associated team members by overseeing administrative tasks, communicating with stakeholders and ensuring resource availability for the project teams. Ensures QMS activities are carried out to support company goals and objectives at the site level and within the Technical Service Team, as assigned.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1) Ensure Safety, Environmental, Quality requirements and “where applicable” ResponsibleSteel requirements are followed.
2) Prepare weekly, monthly, and annual reports and presentations by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data, and making recommendations as appropriate and as assigned to support GoBig! platform.
3) Support the Team for a thorough understanding in quality standards and customer specific requirements.
4) Complete assigned training courses, participate in team meetings, developmental meetings, educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices, participating in professional societies, and maintaining certifications as assigned.
5) Brainstorm ideas to recommend system improvements while building effective relationships with key process teams by assisting in organizing information for process improvements and changes in accordance with the BRS Quality Management System.
6) Assist project champions in planning, organizing, and coordinating project activities across all departments and phases, from initiation to launch.
7) Monitor project progress to ensure accurate project documentation is maintained, including timelines, project summaries, status reports, and action items while conducting stakeholder meetings and facilitating communication between the project managers and stakeholders throughout the project life cycle.
8) Coordinate departmental training protocol to ensure site wide data is consistent with BRS training procedures to provide monthly reports and follow up on any deficiencies; assist with departments and other support processes to answer questions and assist them in reaching their development goals in accordance with the BRS Quality Management System.
9) Assist and train as a backup for the Reapplication Coordinator, as necessary.
10) Perform all duties in the spirit of company culture and in accordance with legal, ethical, and contractual practices. 11) Ability to travel 50 % (or more) of the time.
Qualifications: 1) Four-year technical degree and minimum of one-year relevant work experience preferred and/or, minimum of two years relevant industry work experience.
2) Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) is a plus.
3) Excellent written and oral communication skills; proficient in MS Office; ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and management, both internal and external.
4) Strong attention to detail; excellent organization skills with the ability to perform multiple tasks and obtain results working within strict time frames.
5) Capacity to work independently from general supervision (must be self-motivated once given direction/guidance). 6) Understanding of mini-mill steel processes.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
This position requires the ability to work in an office setting with tasks in the mill, which could typically involve extreme environments from hot to cold.
