About The Role

The Medical Assistant - PD is an hourly, per diem position within our Medical Assistant department, supporting a fast-paced clinical environment. In this role, you will provide both clinical and front-office support to ensure safe, efficient, and patient-centered care. You will perform blood draws, administer injections, assist with physical examinations, and support workplace health services, while also handling front desk responsibilities such as check-in, scheduling, and phone triage. This is an excellent opportunity for a Medical Assistant with at least 1 years of experience who is comfortable multitasking, working collaboratively with a clinical team, and delivering high-quality service to patients in a dynamic clinic setting.


What You'll Do

  • Perform blood draws (phlebotomy) in accordance with clinical guidelines and safety protocols
  • Administer injections, immunizations, and medications as directed by providers
  • Assist providers with patient exams, including physicals and workplace health assessments
  • Prepare exam rooms, equipment, and supplies for patient visits and procedures
  • Obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, and other relevant patient information
  • Support workplace health services, including pre-employment and occupational health screenings
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Perform front desk duties, including patient check-in/check-out, scheduling, and registration
  • Answer and triage phone calls, route messages, and provide basic patient information within scope
  • Coordinate patient flow to support a fast-paced clinic and minimize wait times
  • Follow infection control, safety, and quality standards at all times
  • Assist with supply inventory, stocking, and overall clinic organization
  • Collaborate with providers, nurses, and other team members to ensure excellent patient care
  • Handle sensitive patient information with professionalism and maintain strict confidentiality


Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinic or similar healthcare setting
  • Proficiency in blood draws (phlebotomy) and administering injections
  • Experience working in a fast-paced clinic environment with high patient volume
  • Hands-on experience assisting with physicals and/or workplace health services
  • Comfort with both clinical and administrative/front desk responsibilities
  • Strong phone etiquette and experience answering and triaging patient calls
  • Ability to accurately obtain and document vital signs and patient histories
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and basic computer skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a care team
  • Commitment to patient confidentiality, safety, and high-quality care
  • Availability to work on a per diem, hourly basis with flexible scheduling
