Position Overview

We are seeking a Corporate Controller to lead and strengthen our accounting function as we continue to expand. This role will oversee core accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls across a multi-entity, multi-state real estate portfolio.

This position offers significant exposure to executive leadership, lenders, and investors, along with the opportunity to help build scalable, public-company–ready financial processes and reporting. The ideal candidate is both strategic and hands-on, comfortable in a fast-growing, entrepreneurial environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including GL, AP, AR, and payroll coordination
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
• Prepare and review consolidated financial statements across multiple entities
• Ensure GAAP compliance and adherence to internal accounting policies
• Develop and maintain strong internal controls and financial procedures
• Manage audit processes and coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors
• Support lender reporting, investor reporting, and financial compliance requirements
• Partner with executive leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
• Help design and implement scalable accounting systems and automation
• Mentor and supervise accounting staff, including Senior and Staff Accountants

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
• CPA strongly preferred
• 7–12+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Real estate, private equity, or multi-entity experience strongly preferred
• Deep understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
• Experience leading audits and managing external partners
• Strong systems knowledge and advanced Excel proficiency
• Proven leadership and team management ability
• High attention to detail with a strategic mindset
