Position Overview
We are seeking a Corporate Controller to lead and strengthen our accounting function as we continue to expand. This role will oversee core accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls across a multi-entity, multi-state real estate portfolio.
This position offers significant exposure to executive leadership, lenders, and investors, along with the opportunity to help build scalable, public-company–ready financial processes and reporting. The ideal candidate is both strategic and hands-on, comfortable in a fast-growing, entrepreneurial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including GL, AP, AR, and payroll coordination
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
- Prepare and review consolidated financial statements across multiple entities
- Ensure GAAP compliance and adherence to internal accounting policies
- Develop and maintain strong internal controls and financial procedures
- Manage audit processes and coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors
- Support lender reporting, investor reporting, and financial compliance requirements
- Partner with executive leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Help design and implement scalable accounting systems and automation
- Mentor and supervise accounting staff, including Senior and Staff Accountants
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- CPA strongly preferred
- 7–12+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Real estate, private equity, or multi-entity experience strongly preferred
- Deep understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience leading audits and managing external partners
- Strong systems knowledge and advanced Excel proficiency
- Proven leadership and team management ability
- High attention to detail with a strategic mindset
