Job Description

Corporate Credit Associate

 

Location:

Flexible within the U.S.

Overview:

The Corporate Credit Associate supports the Association’s Capital Markets and Agribusiness Lending portfolio through in-depth credit analysis, underwriting, structuring, and ongoing portfolio monitoring. This role evaluates directly originated, participated, and syndicated loan opportunities across middle-market and upper-middle-market companies in industries such as agribusiness, food and beverage, industrials, forest products, telecommunications, and renewable energy.

This position offers significant responsibility and autonomy, working closely with senior leadership to assess risk and support sound credit decisions.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed credit analysis of corporate borrowers and syndicated loan opportunities
  • Analyze financial statements, cash flow, and key performance drivers to determine credit strength
  • Build and maintain financial models to support forward-looking risk assessments
  • Prepare investment memoranda and credit recommendations for leadership approval
  • Assign and maintain internal risk ratings (Probability of Default and Loss Given Default)
  • Perform ongoing portfolio monitoring and ensure accurate risk classification
  • Support loan servicing activities, including amendments, restructures, and collateral-related matters
  • Ensure compliance with Association credit policies, procedures, and regulatory standards

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 4–6 years of progressive corporate credit, banking, or related financial services experience
  • Strong knowledge of accounting and financial analysis principles
  • Demonstrated ability to independently evaluate complex financial information
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
