Corporate Legal Assistant: Gentry Locke Attorneys is seeking a motivated legal assistant to join our Richmond, Virginia office. The legal assistant will collaborate directly with multiple attorneys in the firm’s corporate, commercial transactions, and commercial real estate groups. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, extensive communications with existing and prospective clients; electronic and physical file opening, maintenance and management; scheduling of calls, meetings and events; assistance with entity formation and reporting; and responses to general correspondence. A successful candidate will be ambitious and organized, and work well in a fast-paced environment. Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience as a corporate legal assistant. Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office is essential. The willingness and ability to learn and expand on current technology skills including versatile cloud apps is required in order to navigate the robust technology package the firm maintains.

Additional Responsibilities
- Establishes and maintains calendar and deadline reminder systems; utilizes master calendar system. Schedules and maintains appointments for attorney(s).
- Opens new files, submits conflict of interest checks, and maintains all client and general files. Conducts periodic review for storage of older files; partners with file clerk to prepare files for closing.
- Prepares correspondence, memoranda, and other legal documents.
- Prepare attorney(s) for client meetings.
- Responsible for maintaining all electronic files while following proper procedures for the practice group.
- Develop and maintain relationships with Court personnel.
- Handle incoming calls and assessing caller needs.
- Coordinates receipt and dispatch of correspondence. Ensures all outgoing mail meets the deadline.
- Partners with administrative support staff to ensure attorney(s) time entry, invoices, vouchers, reimbursements, and all other required documents are submitted in a timely manner.
- Receives clients and visitors in a professional manner.
- Provides back-up to other legal assistants.
- Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
