About this Role
The Credit Operations Officer provides direct operational and analytical support to the Chief Credit Officer (CCO) and the Credit Administration function. This role serves as the central point of coordination for credit reporting, portfolio analytics, workflow management, and administrative operations within the credit department. The Credit Operations Officer ensures the timely production and distribution of credit-related reports, manages the flow of loan approvals and committee materials, and supports the efficient day-to-day operations of the CCO's office.
In this Role You Will
Credit Reporting & Analytics
- Prepare, compile, and distribute recurring and ad hoc credit reports, including portfolio performance summaries, concentration reports, past-due and watch list reporting, and loan pipeline updates.
- Gather and organize data from core banking systems and other sources to support credit risk analysis and executive decision-making.
- Assist in the preparation of materials for Board reporting, Loan Committee, and regulatory examinations.
- Track and report on key credit metrics, trends, and exceptions as directed by the CCO.
Workflow & Process Coordination
- Manage the end-to-end workflow for credit approvals, renewals, and modifications, ensuring timely routing, tracking, and documentation of all credit actions through final disposition.
- Coordinate Loan Committee agendas, materials, minutes, and follow-up items, ensuring all submissions are complete and deadlines are met.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders on the status of credit requests, approvals, and pipeline activity, providing visibility across both credit and operational teams.
- Monitor and follow up on outstanding credit action items, exception tracking, and documentation deficiencies, ensuring timely resolution.
- Coordinate and ensure continuity of approved transactions as they transition beyond Credit into Loan Administration, Closing, Loan Operations, and servicing functions, supporting effective handoff and execution.
- Support cross-functional workflow alignment by working closely with Lending, Loan Administration, Closing, and Loan Operations to ensure consistency, accountability, and timely processing following approval.
- Provide direct administrative and coordination support to the Chief Credit Officer, including meeting preparation, materials management, and follow-up tracking.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work cross functionally with Lending, Loan Operations, Risk Management, Compliance, and Finance to facilitate information flow and resolve operational issues.
- Assist in coordinating responses to internal and external audit and examination requests related to credit.
- Support onboarding and training logistics for credit department staff as needed.
Qualifications, Competencies and Skills
- Associate's degree required; bachelor's degree in business, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 3--5 years of experience in banking operations, credit administration, or a related financial services role.
- Experience supporting senior leadership or executive-level functions strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with commercial and consumer lending processes, loan documentation, and credit reporting.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook); experience with banking core systems (e.g., FIS, Jack Henry, or similar) preferred.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in data compilation and reporting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Self-starter with the ability to anticipate needs and work independently with minimal direction.
